Carry on Tuesday 2011

The most wonderful woman in the world!
When the one whose hand you’re holding
Is the one who holds your heart
You remember how this came to be,
How it tore you both apart,
You think of all the times you cried,
All the times you went without,
The silence in the world around you,
It never heard you shout!
You look across the bed now,
You watch the woman sleep,
Her heart is in your hands now,
Her heart and soul you keep.
Happy Birthday KB

ANZAC DAY is for all soldiers in all wars.

ANZAC DAY COMES AROUND

AGAIN FOR AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND

THE FINAL INSPECTION
The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

'Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you ?
Have you always turned the other cheek ?
To My Church have you been true?'

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
'No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

'Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.'

Sunday Story Time Part 14

The story starts here

King of Dreams
by
Harry N Down

We learn as we go. We think we know people and we never really do. Lies, deception and deceit. It is not all bad there are moments when there is fun and laughter and love.

We sink a few more beers and then discuss our options. Do we spend some time in Japan or head off to India as soon as we can?
There is pain and heartache here. “Let’s do the raid on Delhi eh” I smile. Kev puts his arm around me. “You did good mate, you did good.”

The night moves in slowly. We start talking about what we will do in Delhi until we catch up with Chetna.
I stoke up the PC and check emails. I write a small epitaph for Koryuki on my blog then turning to Kev I ask. “You want to spend a couple of days in Tokyo?”

“Sounds good to me if you are up to it.”
“Might just moon the Emperors palace.” We both laugh at the thought. Two bare bums, brighter than the sun on a hot day lighting up the palace.
I place Koryuki’s letter in with my personal things. It is time to move on. There is nothing more to be gained from weeping.
Sleep comes swiftly. Dreams flow like the waves that crash against the rocks on a winter’s day. Some are sad some are happy but that is all they are dreams, just dreams.

All packed and ready to go we have breakfast and organise to be taken to the train station. Boarding the train. I do not even bother looking back. I am finished here. We take our seats and head off to the hustle and bustle Tokyo.

“Did you really mean it when you said you wanted to moon the Palace?” Kev mentions unexpectedly.
“No, it was just a thought that passed through my head at the time.” I smile looking as the countryside flashes by.

Tokyo is a massive city. It stretches for miles and miles. High-rise buildings and side streets, markets, department stores and people. Many people, rushing here and there.
I am glad when we get to hotel. Peace and quiet from the rat race that soaks this city.
Kev and I book into the Tobu and decide to eat out. We settle in our room, shower and change then head off. As we come out the front door, Kev cracks up laughing.
“That has got to take the cake mate. Vending Machines outside a posh hotel.”

In Japan, they do have vending machines every couple of miles. Normally in groups of three. Cigarettes, soft drinks and beer.

“You couldn’t have that in Australia? Could you? Some bastard would nick the bloody things. Pull up a trailer and car and tow the bloody things away.”
“See how we get ripped off mate. 200 yen here and 700 yen if we take the small can out of the fridge. Bloody cheeky buggas eh?”

Kev and I make our way to the food market, where everyone is competing for your business. We settle into a secluded place and eat the local tucker.
We ask where the nearest Karaoke bar is, they recommend a place around the corner. After we finish eating and pay the bill. The owner of the place offers to take us straight to the bar. Kev looks at me and I shrug my shoulders and just nod. Right now, all I want to do is have a good time.

Coco's Easter

It's mums birthday on MONDAY 25th April 2011 people!

I mention that because so many of mums adoring followers have thought they missed it and sent belated birthday wishes. They say that I don't read properly ha!

For those that don't know, Dad is doing mums birthday menu I will of course be assisting. I have naturally tasted dads cooking and yummy yummy yum!
Mum is very excited as sadly she has never experienced such an event. Her menu, her day, nothing to but enjoy, relax sip champers and wine with her mum and dad who will be attending.
The house is a happy place full of peace contentment and of course lots and lots of zee lerrrrrvvvvvvvvv!
"YOAH! YEAH YOU!
Love for those that can't speak nor READ french!

For me the week has been all about trying to find ways to escape the family home (it keeps me amused and of course drives dad bonkers) mum on the other hand gets worried that I may get out and some one may run me over. Don't you just love mums?

I had my bed room and bed cleaned the other day. Had my big (It's all about ME!) day where I was pampered and cared for by mum. The bath was NOT one of her better choices!

Mum did a beautiful one shot the other day, I honestly needed a cuddle after reading it!
Dad of course has been working ALL week but now has 4 days off with me and mum yet even dad had time to do some stuff. He did a fantastic roast lamb and roasted pumpkin then throw in this fish finger recipe and wow I mean WOW the food here is brilliant!

I have actually been enjoying dads manic monday moments I especially love his shot at the veggie munchers as he calls them. dad really does get so passionate with his thoughts and ideas. Of course most is tongue in cheek but there are some werid people out there. You know the type.... the ones that don't READ posts properly and think they have missed MY MUMS birthday! GGGGRRRRRRRRRR!

"HEY DAD! Wrong Photo!"
Any ways, time for me to assist my dad with his jobs and prearing for MONDAY mums birthday.
You all have a great Easter. Drive carefully, don't want any cute doggies run over. Mum would be upset. Cats on the other hand............errrrrrrr never mind (Mum just gave me a nasty look.)

take care

Sunday Story Time Part 13

The story starts here

A Warriors Tale
by
Harry N Down

My Dearest Steve San,

I am so looking forward to your visit. I have told my mother and my friends and I am so excited.
I am not sure whether I will tell you in person so I write this.
I have always enjoyed our chats, I have always enjoyed our emails, and I have enjoyed having you in my life. You have made great difference on my life.
I have a secret that I have hidden from you. Because I am scared, you will not like me any more.
My work is that of a call girl. A whore or slut I think you call it.
I have given it up. I hope you will be pleased. I now have a job as a teller in a bank.
Money is not as good but you make me see things I not see before.
I hope you forgive me

Much Love Koryuki
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

As the water flows down my cheeks, I fold up the letter and tuck it into my pocket. I ask her mother if,
we can do anything. I look at Kev. He excuses himself and heads off outside, saying he needs some air.

I spend time with Koryuki’s mum and we laugh, cry, and hold hands remembering her daughter, as she would like to be remembered. I did ask what Koryuki did for a living before being a bank teller. Her mother did not know.
I was not about to tell her.
Kev returned handing me another envelope, which I past on to Koryuki’s mum. She bowed before opening it.

She opened it and sobbed.
“Mama San, Watashi wa, err ai shimas your musume.”
“It is the least we can do.” My Japanese not being the best.
After bidding our farewells, Kev and I catch a cab back to the hotel.
Upon reaching the room, I rush outside on to balcony and let out a scream.
A scream, Japan has never heard before!

Kev just lets things be. When I come inside, he hands me a beer and says nought.
Right now, it is as it should be.
“We are off to India next” I sniff a couple of times.
“You ok Steve?” A concerned Kev is not a good thing. “Yes mate I am fine and dandy!”

Canadian Dry Rub

I have always been a bit sceptical about poliical correctness.
I find that it has gone way beyond over the top.
It has taken itself to a point where no one can do anything without offending someone.

Here's the rub
"I am offended that you are offended."

Let's talk about the Canadian Dry Rub.
This happens when a male/female places them selves up against their partners butt, and then proceeds to hump the partner or pretend to.There is no inserting of any said appendage nor play object this is cuddle time.
This action usually lasts a good 20secs before all parties become bored unless it is used as foreplay before the real deal around the front.

SEE.........notice how political correctness entered this post without me even knowing.

Let's just face it a Canadian Dry Rub is a bit of polictical correctness gone too way to far and detracts from the orginal sayinga "dry root" (root being slang for making z luvvvvvvve)

The term dry rub on the other hand was I thought  actually something you do to meat with a variety of spices.

That meat of course, being the meat you eat not the wee sasuage between ya thighs.

So how the hell does that marry up with a root?

Consider the dry rub/dry root or Dr for short .... what if you use a bit of lube to stop chaffing?
Dry rub or dry root?
Does the fact that sweat down the butt cheeks may assist with friction but does it actually constitute a DRY rub/root?
Does having Dr in front of your name now make you stop and wonder?

For all the good intentions politically correct persons should be taken out the back and shot.

Next they will be demanding that everyone speak french.

Whitesnakes do it better ...... when ya live in NZ but think ya in Canada

((((KB))))

KB and I have been together now for nearly 18 months and it has gone so fast.

The most precious jewel in the world!
We are still very much in love as we were when our adventure together first started. I believe, I would say it is even more intense and certainly a deeper love that we now share.

There will never be enough hours in the day, nor enough words to express how much I love KB
She is simply brilliant in every aspect of our life.

Today as with every other day I am grateful for knowing her and being part of her life. I will be eternally grateful for having her love me the way I love her.

KB my darling. "I LOVE YOU!"

Sunday Story Time Part 12

The story starts here

A Warriors Tale
by
Harry N Down

Koryuki is the only one not to reply to my email. With only a couple of days, before we leave I am not worried. Koryuki often does not answer emails until a day or two later. So no problem. She will let me know if there is anything wrong. She normally will SMS me if she cannot get on line so I am not concerned. She is probably working.

Sleep does not come easy when one is about to travel. Excitement, anticipation, expectation and hope abound and keep the mind and one’s brain ticking over.
Constantly looking at the clock does not help you sleep. Especially when you are watching it.
Tossing and turning, also adds to the lack of sleep.

First stop is Japan, Adelaide to Melbourne, then Melbourne to Narita. Narita to and Shiba Minato-ku Celestine Hotel Tokyo.

We arrive early evening Japanese time and at the hotel, we just crash. Sleeping at least for a couple of hours, before getting up and having showered and shaved decide to try the local cuisine. I take to the local noodles, Kev settles for the sushi. “Beautiful, Ashai beer.” I say soaking in the place as if it were home.

We take the train in the morning to Utsunomiya and book into the Chisun Hotel.
Kev and I relax and take time to adjust to the time change and the country.
“Bloody hell mate, we really need to find something to eat that is decent.” Kev says rubbing his stomach.
“Let’s try the place down stairs,” I mention with some trepidation. “Ok, I am Hungry mate.”
“You are always hungry Spud”

We find the restaurant and enjoy the meal. Oddly enough, we chose to retire early and then make plans to catch up with Koryuki.
Sleep comes quickly and easily and we both wake fully rested.

“You going to ring her?” Kev inquires over breakfast. “Yeah I will do.” I say with less conviction than I let on. “Later on this afternoon. She works odd hours”
“Hmm Yeah sure mate.” Kev just shakes his head.
For the most part of the morning, Kev and I remain in our room. “You going to ring or are we just here for the fun of it” He has the look that could kill.
“Ok, Ok, I will ring.”
I pick up the phone and dial the number.

“Mushi, Mushi”
“Err is Koryuki there?”
There is a silence. “Steve san?”
“Hai!”
“Steve san, I am Koryuki’s mother, Dozo English is Ok”
“I was after Koryuki.”
Once again, there is silence.
“Doze comes to our home this afternoon.”
“What time Mama san,”
“Watashi wa, itsu de mo.”
“Hai, arigato gozaimas.”

“What the hell you crapping on about Steve.” Kev seems somewhat bewildered by what has transpired.
“We had better pick up some drink mate. Something is not quite right here.” I reply.
“You are frigging telling me pal. You are way too serious about all this crap.”
“Her mum was trembling on the phone mate. Something just does not feel right. Better get me a beer before we head off.”

Down stairs in the foyer, we order a cab. We are told it will take awhile, so we head to the bar. There we have a drink. I look at the gifts we have brought for Koryuki and her mum. “What the hell is up with you mate?” Kev asks.
“Mate, something is just not right. It all seems a tad weird. Her mum never has spoken with me before now.”
“Maybe she is checking out her new son in-law?” Kev laughs that laugh of a Santa Claus at Christmas.
I laugh to, it seems funny, it is funny, but there is some doubt in my mind, in my head. Something is amiss.

“Mr. Boddey san, your Taxi is here.”
“Arigato”
I bow. Kev and I get in the Cab and head off to Koryuki’s home.
We arrive at Koryuki’s home and I knock on the door.
Koryuki’s mother answers the door.
“Yoku irasshaimash’ta”
“Hai, arigato gozaimas.”
“Kimas, Sumimasen, I should speak English”
There are tears in her eyes yet she does not cry.

Kev and I enter the home. It is small but very comfortable. Kev holds up the beer we have brought and Koryuki’s mum shows him the fridge. She has a smile that shades her tears.
Kev brings over a couple of beers. He looks at Koryuki’s mum; she reaches for one and starts crying.
“What’s wrong Mama san?” I ask.
“Koryuki” She looks at me with tears in her eyes “Is DEAD!”

Kev and I both look at one another staring in disbelief.
“WHAT!” I half shout.
Koryuki’s mother hands me an envelope taking a big swig from the bottle of beer.
“Dozo, yurushimas.” She leans forward, bowing to me.
“What is there to forgive okasan?”
“Steve, what is going on?” Kev asks with great concern.
“How did she shinimas?”
She had been excited about our visit and had been working when on the way home she was involved in a car accident.
At the hospital, she asked her mother to give me her letter just before she passed away.
“Sumimasen” I hug her mother.

Tears rolling down my cheeks. Anger enraged me. Hurt engulfed me. Sorrow surrounded me. The tears kept coming, never ending. I watched her mother trying to hold back emotions. I looked at Kev for some support. He to was caught in the gut retching reality of it all. I opened the letter and it read.

“How long ya reckon we need for the trip Steve?”
“I reckon 6 months, giving us time and space to do everything and allowing for any unforseen circumstances.”
“Sounds fair mate. I will book my leave, as soon as I know when you want to go.”
“I was thinking September/October.”
“Ok, sounds ok ta me.”

With that, plans are made; and we are all in to the travel mode.

We decide to go to Japan first then India then the USA. We thought about coming home and having a break but we would rather keep on moving.
We upgraded our mobile phones that we can use anywhere in the world. We buy shoes that are slip on. Three pairs, one for fun, one for casual wear and one for going out. Clothes we decide to take a mix and match approach. We will wear a business class look on the plane, (minus a tie) and the rest we will be casual wear. Jocks, socks and the like we will keep to a minimum, as we will purchase those as is needed.
A decent digital, video camera, capable of still photos, with ample memory, a laptop with internet access and plenty of space on it. My MP3 player and of course gifts.
Kev packs the suitcases. We have one each, plus a smaller suitcase for all the gifts we have decided to take. By doing this we figure that we have 2 cases of clothes and shoes and one of stuff that customs may want to check, thus stopping our personal stuff from being spread all over the place.

We also take two small bags for the laptop and for personal things; we may need as we go.

I arrange traveller’s cheques, cash and the two Visa debit cards, linked to the main account, thus ensuring we have sufficient funds no matter what.
We choose to leave at the end of October. I would like to be in Japan for Cherry Blossom. I remember it from way back in 1990.

As our departure date is nearing, I email those that we are going to visit and all seem quite excited at the thought of a visit from a couple of Aussie blokes just looking for a good time.

Saturdays look back the week that was....

Beer oclock!

Been a tough one this week but both KB and I survived as we normally do. I found myself falling into the trap of using excuses not to do things rather than taking the bull by the horns and getting things done.

Hence we now have Tantalising Tuesday and What's with the meat? over on KB and Whitesnakes Home.
Simply Delish was going to have an Asian twist however due to KB's Dads health issue we had one of the longest nights ever.

Come shopping with KB and I it is an experince not to easliy forgotten.

KB has her healthy 30 day thingy still doing and it is nearly finished. Keeping up with KB and of course Weekend Walkabout are really moving along although the weather has not been to kind.
I was amused that KB thought her Muse had one but we soon found it again much to KB's delight.

Coco's at it again and as ususal you can catch up with Monday's Manic Moments along with Wednesdays Wisdom on my blog.
Tuesdays Twosomes is all about food and so is Fridays Fry Up but Thursdays picture gives an insight to the weather here.

Now peeps the rugby world cup is on soon and here are some classic ads for you to watch. Rugby Word Cup 1,  Rugby Word Cup 2,   Rugby Word Cup 3.
Honestly these are some of the best I have seen for a major sporting event. Even better than the world soccer cup ad with that little brazillain dude.

Sundays story time is becoming quite popular and as KB suggested I should be looking to finish the story soon.

Have a great weekend people and take care.
Happy Birthday HE!
