Last Post Of The Whitesnake

I come from a world that is full of life and enegry, yet it eludes me.
After much soul searching, after much inner struggling I have decided to close this blog down.

Writing comes and goes. Just like the life ya never know which path ya will follow till the time comes.
I was asked just recently what was or is my biggest regret, my answer was simple.

I have no real regrets. We all make mistakes and I have made some questionable choices but life is a learning experience.
I leave you with part of a story and I thank you all for your time, your friendship and your love.

"Avon? Why do we listen to these lies?"

Avon looks up and hears some of the villagers yelling and screaming abuse.
They do it from a distance. Out of reach from Trax's sword. Trax clenches his fist.

"You are responsible for everything that has happened."yells one man.

"Murderers! That's all you are!"shouts another.

"You have destroyed our lives with your fancy words and murderous ways."

Avon pays them no heed. "Come Seska, Trax."

Avon gets up and starts walking out the door.

"See the cowards leave. My daughter died because of you." The old mans words touch Avon's very heart and soul.

Trax draws his sword and turns towards the crowd.
Although some distance away the villagers still move back like sheep grouped into one.

"Trax! ....... NO! ........ Leave them be." Trax turns with a puzzled look on his face.

"They spread lies, they twist the truth, they make a mockery of what happened." Trax voice is raised and sounds desperate.
Avon place his hand on Traxs shoulder.

"Trax ....... Look at them, their angry words do not come from the heart. The words come from a sense of helplessness, of loss, of misunderstanding. Even if we did tell them, do you really think they would listen? They are blinded by their own need to lay blame."

Trax places his sword back in its scabbard, turns and storms out of the hall.

" It is never easy there is always pain. " Avon then turns and follows with Seska in toe.

Trax leads the way and is quick to get on his horse. Avon follows and reaches down for Seskas hand. With one swing of his arm he lifts her up and seats her behind him. With a quick kick the horses head off down the road.

Three bodies wrapped in cloth lay upon the a stack of wood. The wood stacked on a small boat.

Avon and Trax dismount. Seska remains on her fathers horse.

They work together without a word.
Pushing and pulling until the boat is now floating on the water.

Avon holds the boat as steady as he can while Trax lightsThe premade torch. Trax looks towards Avon.
Avon nods. Trax walks around the boat light the tinder that then ignites the wood. As the fire takes hold the both push the boat out to sea.
The tide takes its turn in taking the boat out further away.

The fire now well ablaze lights up the sky.

A tear is shed.

Trax and Avon waist deep in water watch as the fire burns fericously before finally the boat starts to sink.

They return to their horses and ride off.
Another journey awaits.

Back Home

Sometimes we just like to be in the safe surroundings that we call home.
Sometimes we are to scared of change to actually do anything to live our life to the full.
Most of the time it is just that we only see what we want to see.

Sometimes we just want to curl up and hide from our problems and we blame thhose we care for most.

Sometimes we are just to blind to see.

Brian Katie Kids and Kittens in Christchurch

Good morning and I do mean morning.

It’s just gone three am and I am having a beer and am in no mood to sleep. That lack of wanting to sleep may have a lot to do with the grand dad nap I had earlier. Although I have had a lot of things on my mind.

Here at the Southern Comfort Motel Christchurch on Beagley Road, Christchurch, sitting in front of the laptop typing away, my mind is racing. Outside is cool and tinted with an edge of crisp cold air.

The boy racers are dragging their cars up and down the street and not one single police officer insight.Shouts of abuse echo in the night air as the cars race up and down irregularly. Cars with three to four youths drinking and yahooing up and down without a care for those in the motels that stretch along this street. The occasional bottle being hurled out of the car and resting with a crash, shattering across a building or a footpath that some poor bastard will travel come the early part of the day. Some jogger, partaking in their early ritual of huffing and puffing will do a polka around the shattered glass cursing and sweating. At that time I will be having a cooked breakfast and will give them none of my precious thoughts. If I do see one I will of course sit and think ....... What a wanker!

I am in Christchurch once more for several reasons. The flower show is on ...... (Big deal) I actually like the place ..... (Whoopee fuck!) Checking out employment opportunities and real estate .... (Yes I am serious) Contemplating closing down this blog as well. (Well thank fuck for that!) And of course while here no visit is complete without catching up with William ........ Oh yes and Marja! On me walk around this city I have noticed about seven Thai eateries all along one street. Yet the lack of millions of Asians roaming about like lost sheep seems irrelevant.
Just as a side note 50% of eateries are actually Thai in NZ.

May I suggest a few things. When in Christchurch do stay at theSouthern Comfort Motel Christchurch, and if you really do like Thai food DO go to KeoThai which is just around the corner. If you like burgers DO go to Sophies Cafe, which also is just around the corner ( the motel manager here also recommends them for a hearty breakfast.
I think he is just a lazy sod who doesn’t really want to do cooked brekkies at the motel) then if the pub and pokies is your cup of tea (Did I really say tea?) then the Carlton Hotel is the place to go, and it just so happens to be ...... just around the corner.

Within around two hundred metres there are heaps of other motels and eateries of all kinds. I talk about this particular motel because Katie and Brian are wonderful down to earth hosts. Oh and Katie is a real honey of a woman who will do almost anything ta make your stay as memorable as possible. They have three beautiful kids and some cats who roam around and are just as friendly. They make all those that stay at their motel feel welcome. Which actually should be a standard thing, don’t you think?

Today is Saturday and later on when I go to bed and then wake up, we will be catching up with William and his wife ......err what’s her name ..... Oh yeah Marja.

We will be taking them out for dinner at KeoThai so if you are lucky you may get another opinion on Thai food and whether I am any good at judging decent places to eat. Shaz went to the flower show and enjoyed it.
She had a diamond pass which means ya pay a lot of money not to stand in a queue. Some had to wait a few hours just ta get in the place. Bugga that!

I went ta the pub and chatted with Mel the barmaid. Wonderful woman very easy going and helpful. Mel made Shaz a drink that she really enjoys. It is simply Lemon Lime and bitters but as Mel pointed out. Ya gotta get the mix right otherwise it is like a sheep’s fart on a warm bed.

Well I should really hit the sack and get some shut eye. I’ll just finish this beer go out into the cool night air have a smoke then come back in and wait till Brian knocks on our door with his cooked breakfast. ( He probably gets it from Sophie’s).

Take care peeps.

Jobs, Beer, Wine and Bluff Oysters

I’ve just spent the last week concentrating on finding a job. I have actually surprised myself at how well I have handled each application and interview. The confidence levels are getting higher. The professionalism I have handled each interview has been brought to my attention by each interviewer I have spoken too.

However, I am still awaiting responses. *laughing softly*

I can’t stop now. Today’s interviews went really well. The second one was short but sweet. The woman was surprised I will be heading back to Christchurch for an interview. She was also just as surprised ta be told I also have a job prospect in the UK assisting in the everyday running of an Ole English Pub! (Something I am seriously considering if it all comes to fruition).

The fact I am out and about looking has been beneficial to me as I am getting to meet and greet people. If I had been living in Pakaranga I would have a job right now and a good one at that. Alas, it may all come to nought as where I live at the moment is a fair distance ta travel and the hours required to work would leave me little time ta sleep let alone eat. Bugga Aye!

So tomorrow I am off again hitting the pavements and seeking out employment where ever I can find it.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not despondent or anything. On the contritely (or however ya spell the word) I am excited.

While offers are coming my way opportunities abound I will find something and more than likely something better than I would have hoped for. Just like the interviews today. They started out as being for basic positions then changed into a few levels up the ladder. * Big Smile*

As each job comes by I am finding it good that I am out and getting stuck in to job hunting.
Today’s interview was a hoot! The two interviewers at the end commented on how it had been a most enjoyable interview. Hmm go figure. Me finks this ole Whitesnake can still put a smile on the dial.

“Everyday an adventure, every pay cheque a fortune.”

After everything I have been through I am still standing. I still believe in everything I have done and said. I still have my wants and needs and I will stick by it to the end. I am not going anywhere till it’s my time ta piss off outta here. It’s a LONG way off yet!

Now ..... that’ll please many and annoy but a few. Those few can bend over now and brace themselves for the bang of their lives.

On a much lighter note I had my first taste of “Bluff Oysters”.

They are the best tasting oysters honestly.

I have had em from Clevedon and the Bay of Plenty but they have been total crap. I wouldn’t even feed em ta a cat. People over here wanna put all sorts of crap on em. Ya eat em raw and fresh that is best.

As for beer they certainly have a massive variety and I have taken a liking to Steinlager Pure, Monteiths Lager and a few of the home made brews they serve on tap. For the wine freaks there are so many to choose from you really would be amazed. Most are reasonable priced and well worth trying. Both red and white wines are very good. Haven’t come across a shitty one yet. Notice I said yet. Ya know how it is aye.

In a previous post I raved about the food and then I found the crappy oysters but remember, when in NZ Bluff Oysters are the go!

The weather here is getting a bit chilly although I still walk around half dressed. Shorts and tank top. Just throw a jumper on if it gets nippy.

A well peeps that’s it for now as I have run outta things ta say. Take care all of you and I will post again when I can find something ta write about. Well something decent anyway.

What you up too?

A lot of you guys and gals have been asking how I am coping. How am I surviving and what I have been up to?
Seems ta me no one would be really interested in self indulgent crap.

Well !!!!!!!!!!! Butter me buns and smother them with hundreds and thousands!

Some of you wacko’s really wanna know so........Here goes....

We arrived here on the 15th of Jan 2009 and for the first week stayed in a motel. The house was being decorated and they wanted a bit more time. We took possession of the house on the Saturday but stayed in the motel till the Monday night. Tuesday was our first real day in our new home.

The weather has been warm and humid. It has rained and has been cold but it hasn’t been anything ta write home about. They actually had a RECORD temperature 0f 32.4c. WOOHOO! Whoopee fuck! I just left a minimum of 41.5. Plus it got worst (Adelaide I mean) they had a whole 3 weeks of nothing under 35c. Then the bushfires started and ya all nose about that aye.
Anyways, we spent the first two weeks settling in and have spent the rest of the time settling in.

The furniture STILL hasn’t left Melbourne.
Sucks don’t it? Well fortunately we or should I say Shaz has wonderful friends and family who have either loaned or given us stuff ta get by with. So we have the basics ta survive. We have gone out and picked up a few things that this family needs. A PC and a surround sound system, a TV and of course a microwave and something called a washing machine.

The washing Machine isn’t too bad. It has all these special functions that apparently do wonderful and amazing things yet it still can’t make pizza. Bugga aye!

I have been trying ta get some miles in the legs as I walk through the botanical gardens. Tell ya what though. A walk ta the shops and I am talking LOCAL, up and down them hills ain’t something ta be sneezed at. I am getting use ta it though and every day is great days..... believe me!

I have mentioned it before but the food here has frigging taste. On a scale compared ta Aussie prices things work out around the same. So from a financial point of view things are basically the same.

I have met and caught up with most of the peeps that Shaz knows and it is like old times.
Well now. The big question on everyone lips is ....... has this ole whitesnake found a pub.
Not just any old pub but a place he can go and rest his weary brow and sup a few ales and have the full enjoyment his life has desired. The answer? YES!
This ole fart spends a few hours a week at a place called The Bog Irish Bar - Manukau Pub a wonderful place ta meet and greet peeps.
I do actually miss you. Especially those that I have left behind in OZ. Such is life then they hang ya!

On the job front I have applied for around 8 jobs and go to a place called Mt Wellington early next week ta sign up with a security company. I have caught up with Internet friends over here and it has all been good and we catch up every now and then.

I have also phone friends and family as it is a hell of a lot cheaper ta do it from here than it was from Oz.
I have also tanned up well, however when I do take the tank top off the bright skin does appear a wee bit brighter than most would like. I also have a new watch band a ring band as well as a Jangle/Thong/Sandal band.

Well peeps, this so far is my life.
We have a 3 bed townhouse and I live upstairs and Shaz downstairs. Well I spend most of my time up here on the PC and it.... meaning upstairs hasn’t been finished as far as deco is concerned. I do however come down for sleeping and eating.
So for now my friends I hope this fills ya need ta know what I have been up to. Take care and I will keep ya updated

The Gardens

The view across the gardens is the same but it doesn’t have the same feel anymore.

The varying shades of green make for a unique picture. The many different coloured flowers bloom and add some decorum to the now empty lakes that are being cleaned up. The stench not as bad as one might assume. Sludge taken from the lakes is used as fertiliser for the rest of the gardens.

Laid out, the sludge reminds me of mud pools without the bubbling effect. One gets a picture of a volcanic eruption that has long passed. Dried up lava dumped and now cooled.

I watch as visitors from all walks of life come and go. Their conversations heard by many yet listened too by only those the words were meant for.

I sit in my usual chair and sup on a steinlager pure. I will normally have only two but today I over indulge in this delightful beverage. The heat of the sun is quickly cooled by any breeze that comes my way. I sit in a shady area just outside the restaurant so as to soak in the view of anyone who comes or goes.

It is a tranquil place only interrupted by some child who isn’t behaving the way its parents want. My thoughts are my own and I often smile at what has been and what could be.

The thought of pulling out a gun and with one quick accurate shot I could put the child out of its misery and the other patrons would then have their peaceful time again. That makes me smile. Not that I would do it, but purely it is the simplicity of what can be achieved with such little effort.

As always time flies past and my time here is coming to an end. There is a home that requires my presence. I make my way through the forest of various floras. I take whatever trail presents its self. Following it until suburbia interrupts this walk.

Peace and contentment are not mine for very long.

I Never Cry

This seems so right at the moment

If there is a tear on my face
It makes me shiver to the bone
It shakes me, Babe
It's just a heartache that got in my eye
And you know
I never cry,
I never cry

Sometimes I drink more than I need
Until the TV's dead and gone
I may be lonely
But I'm never alone
And the night may pass me by
But I'll never cry

Take away,
take away my eyes
Sometimes I'd rather be blind
Break a heart, break a heart of stone
Open it up but don't you leave it alone '
Cuz that's all I got to give you
Believe me Babe, it ain't been used
My heart's a virgin, its never been tried
And you know
I'll never cry
And you know
I'll never cry
And you know I'll never cry Never cry,
I'll never cry
Break a heart, break a heart of stone '
Open it up but don't you leave it alone
'Cuz that's all I got to give you
Believe me Babe, it ain't been used
My heart's a virgin, its never been tried
And you know I'll never cry Never cry I'll never cry

Alice Cooper............ I never cry!
