Our local paper had an article about how students at
university are being asked to stamp out campus racism.
I thought it was a great idea until; I read further and
found out that it was more about the characterisation of people that was being
targeted and not racism. I also discover that once more the words
offensive/offended were banded about with gay abandon.
For so called educated people this was pretty lame and the
use of the word racism certainly sends out the wrong message especially when
the phrase “a shift in Caucasian student’s attitudes would make a difference”.
Racism is when one race states they are better than another;
NOT because we assume that all Chinese people eat fried rice!
