Cot it right again

In my younger and more vulnerable years,
Life was a party, drinking plenty of beers,
In my younger and more vulnerable life,
Marriage really was, trouble and strife,
In my younger and more vulnerable way,
There was no tomorrow, only today,
In my younger and more vulnerable past,
I always believed the good times would last,
Now in my older, more experienced years,
I am what I am, and I still drink them beers!

Whitesnakes do it better ............. Well why not!

I like the way you mixed up the prompt line to achieve progression through the poem. As always it made me smile, but humour is tinged with sadness this time.
Lovely piece.
