Reflection #Poetry

just a child inside a mirror,
burning fires inside of hell,
lost moments to remember,
is it you that is looking,
ripples in the pond
from a stone, who can tell?
an infants cry so distant,
all emotions cast aside,
echoes of the snow capped mountains,
the bird flies free,
against the wind swept water,
there is nowhere to hide.

Whitesnakes do it better ............. All of the time.

that last line rings rather ominous against the first...a child trapped in a mirror and no where to hide...nice one shot!

I could be reading this wrong, but it seems like the lament of lost youth...and not necessarily a good one. I love the imagery - so strong!

the child inside the mirror -- we all see that, I think. You described it exactly.

I love poetry that can address many issues. Looking back at childhood in a lament, a child whose memories were bleak, a child who is caught in a nightmare.

Nicely done and glad you shared with One Shot - welcome

Fantastic writing here brother...
You should make it a double Shot this week and do a Friday Flash 55!
It's a lot easier than poetry.
Unless of course you do a poem!
