yet war ‘n’ hate don’t go away,
take the words, and mix them up,
a load of bullshit, is all you've got.
so many killed, so many died,
ask the question, there’s no reason why,
don’t talk to me of love for my fella man,
you use the faith and don’t give a damn.
living in fear, is all we got,
it’s all about, who gets the final shot,
don’t ask me to understand,
you are a killing field, killing every man.
there is no reason, for what you do,
be serious, i’m human, just like you,
annihilation is what you seek,
vestal virgins, need to stand and speak.
you speak of death, and kill them all,
extermination,
watch the mighty fall,
no one wins, yet the war goes on,
there is no road to glory,
still
the battle rages on!
Whitesnakes do it better..........................religiously!

When religion is used to promote ones own agenda, the results can be disasterous. This often overshadows the benefits of having religious beliefs. I don't know if that makes sense when I read it back but I'm sure you know what I mean. I found your poem thought provoking hun. Miss ya xxxx
ReplyDeletePowerful lines that express the futility and questions the deaths and motivations behind raging war.
ReplyDeleteWow! How very true are your words. Senseless wars and killing is pure hate. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery well done...let the Whitesnakes rule...they do it better...everyone else is ....nuts...bkm
ReplyDeleteWar is always a killing field, a maiming field. We've proven we can do with and without religion. Thought-provkoing poem.
ReplyDeletepower write...religeon has been used as a n excuse for war repeatedly by those that preach about love...too true...nice one shot!
ReplyDeleteA tremendously powerful write.
ReplyDeleteGreat Job Whitesnake!!!
ReplyDeleteSo true!=D If only war and hate doesn't exist! World can be a much more happier place to live in=D
ReplyDeleteSo much truth...and how sad is that truth? Really thought provoking poem.
ReplyDeleteI am in complete accord with your sentiments. The battle rages and yet to condemn others' faith or other faiths is to take up sides somehow or engage in their prejudice. It's my life's dilemma. How to quiet the eternal troubles. You wrote about it so powerfully. Thank you. Gay (@beachanny)
ReplyDeleteI so share in your sentiments...very outstanding piece and truthful...
ReplyDeleteCheers!
White snakes do it better... Religiously....black or red, all the snake does is bite, if religiously provoked or not... its in the nature of snakes not to walk straight. Liked this one.. written so beautifully.

Nice one shot. Religion is one of those dangerous topics because of the perceptions of man. Nice One Shot. Love and Light, Sender

ReplyDeleteIt's okay to kill people if (your)God tells you to.
ReplyDeleteWell said, Whitesnake!
I hear you. Well said.
ReplyDeleteI want no part of any organized religion that condones hate.
All in the name of keeping the peace. Bull shit, indeed. Great thoughts, well said. My One Shot is HERE.
ReplyDeletebeautiful piece for life time drama such as sickness and death...
ReplyDeletewell done!
All the major religions have at heart the need to do unto others as you would have done to yourself but each generation has to relearn the lesson. Thanks for reading and commenting on my poem. Hope your week goes well.
ReplyDeleteBugs the crap out of me when they use MY faith to further their asinine agenda...well done, Whitesnake. Nice to meet you. It's my first time at One Shot.
ReplyDeletePowerful lines, so much truth behind it.. Loved it..
ReplyDelete--Someone Is Special--
yeah - unfortunately religion was and is used as an excuse for lots of wars - would be glad we could stop it..
ReplyDeleteMan does so many things to justify stupidity. Your piece was a great statement - now what if people listened???
