Friendship is defined as what?
I have a lot of friends but few are close enough to get to know me well. Few would dare. It is well documented that a Whitesnakes bite can be lethal. It is also a well known fact that when you mess with friends of the snake you are taking your life in your hands and believe me your life isn’t worth much when you cross me.
Not that I have ever had the need to attack. I choose stealth and cunning. When struck you won’t know what hit ya! The bite doesn’t come as one would think. Having said all that, it does take a hell of a lot to rile this ole Whitesnake. Many have tried and all have failed. Failed miserably, mainly due to their inability to see things from my perspective. They revert to the basic human function of blaming everyone and everything but themselves. They use abuse and threats to try and get their point across. It is truly pointless. Resistance is futile the Whitesnake will get you in the end or total ignore you as one would a boil on the backside of humanity.
Once the abuse starts I will pass it off as I would taking a crap. One of those things ya have ta put up with but once rid of it ya feel so much better. These type of people are like a pooh in the toilet, totally and utterly useless and can be flushed away with the press of a button.
Amazingly enough those that come up with the standard abuse have no idea who you are. They never get to know you well enough to say “Oh yeah he means this not that.” Many a time I have left comments on blogs and the blogger must wonder where the hell I came up with that! It is my nature to read a post and comment on the thing that sticks out in my mind the most. Sometimes, well most times it is but a few simple words that have nothing to do with whatever the main content was.
Just lately a few of my friends have been harassed by people described above. Just hit the delete button people. Or block their emails. Ignore these parasites that have nothing better ta do than come into your space and ferret around trying to seek attention.
You do have ta feel sorry for them though aye?
Nothing better ta do, aww such is life. Oh I have had my share of spineless tossers leaving bullshit comments or sending threating emails. Alas their efforts have been in vain, they have wasted their time, energy and internet usage on doing something only deprived people would do.
You all did notice how I myself indulged in a wee bit of abuse myself aye?
Always good to make sure ya let off a bit of steam yaself so as not to let it build up and fester. One should always have a hissy fit once in a while ta clear the passage ways at both ends.
Me finks this is the problem with many things we face. Rather than dealing with it we ignore or put it to one side. Not everyone can do it but I like ta deal with probs as soon as they happen. Of course this sometimes needs ya ta stop and think about what ya doing or saying. Two things I must say I need ta practice more. Ahh I hear you ask, “Will he?” Mmm probaly not!
Where is all this leading?
Fucked if I know. Maybe I just needed ta have a rant and a rave!
Whitesnakes do it better ............ When ya just press delete!

Christchurch The Whitesnake Cometh!
It came outta the blue so...... be afraid, be very afraid. To Use KB's words
Well,
Welcome ta sunny Christchurch NOT!
It absolutely pissed down with rain for the first two days. Not That I minded but Akaroa was not the same Akaroa that Marja talks about.
All those beautiful pictures she has on her blog..... Yeah Right Must have got em from a magazine or something.
The pics I took were grey and wet and cloudy and NO! It was not the cameras fault nor the operators’ fault so Nah!
It was misty rainy and very cloudy. It was still great fun though. We all decided ta go off and buy some winter clothes ta wear. Just to see us through the rest of our stay.
OH Dear! Didn’t need them after that. Bugga Aye?
I must say that Akaroa was beautiful even with the wintery conditions. There was a guy there who pulled his boat in and started filleting the fish he had caught and sells them to the public. Can’t get any fresher than that aye? We brought some and had them when we got back home. Simply delicious!
We played the first few days by ear. Just floating round from one place to another. I spent some time at the pub which is my want! The girls did their thing and we were quite content and totally enjoying ourselves.
Come the Sunday, well poor Shaz was crooker than a crook persons crook bits. Threw up early Sunday morning. Must have caught some bug. Let me tell ya ..... It was not a good look.
Being that we had ta go ta Marja’s place later that day we decided ta wait as long as we could before heading off. We kind of hoped Shaz would feel better but unfortunately she was in no fit condition ta come out. So Mum and I went and Bev took us there and would come back ta pick us up. Bev didn’t have the heart ta leave Shaz alone and being that I had promised Marja I would come I couldn’t break a promise.
When we got ta Marja’s place I had ta laugh.
Her back garden is her front door and it is all fenced off like a back garden. Being that I am not use ta this style of housing I found it quite amusing. At the time I wasn’t even sure we had the right house.
When ya meet Marja for the first time ya know it is her but (and I kid you NOT) she is more beautiful than her photos. All the pics I have seen of the woman do NOT do her justice! She is simply gorgeous!
Well enough of the brown nosing.
We were greeted and welcomed like royalty. Flags waving and a few tables set out simple but nice.
We brought along a few beers and some bottles of wine both red and white. Marja enjoys a red wine by the way. Not just one neither!
We talked for a while and I passed on hellos from KB and Keith but then the ole mother in law gets her gums inta gear and whoa and behold I am left there ta fend for me self.
Enter Marja’s better half.
William the Great! Such a handy man. A wee bit shy at first but after a few brews he was ticking over nicely. Fortunately both William and I, or should I say I, decided there was not enough beer in the fridge to last so he kindly offered ta take me down ta the local bottle shop and we picked up a couple of cases of beer.
Back at Marja’s place we talked and we had an absolutely brilliant time. I must admit I did have a good laugh at wee William’s BBQ however....... He is THE MAN when it comes ta cooking. The steaks were simply divine.
Marja’s Dutch salad was to die for and honestly there were times when I wished ya could have been there with me. I actually thought about ya a lot.
Well we arrived about 1pm and departed around 9pm so we certainly had a good session. More good news was that Shaz made it and was able ta spend some time with Marja and her family and share the love and the companionship that this family oozes.
Marja and William, thank you so much for a wonderful day. Unfortunately the pics I wanted ta put on my blog did not turn out so I will have to come back and take them again. However there are a couple of short vids that may do
Is that a bad thing?
Kaikoura was our next stop.
A day trip and what a day. The views of the beaches there have to be seen to believed.
Pictures do not do the place justice.
I will try and post some but ya just have ta see it for yaself to realise the beauty of it.
All too soon the holiday ends and ya have ta head home.
So now I am at home and back into the world of reality. The future holds plenty of adventures. There are lots of things I have to do. It is like life has just begun and whatever journeys I take I am taking you along.
How can I not?
Whitesnakes do it better....... Cos those that truly know me, know I deliver on a promise!
William the BBQ King ...oh and a snake along side..........hehehehe!
So this is Marja and me..........WHO took these so called Pics?

A Slip of the Tongue
Isn’t it funny how people come into ya life and leave?
Happens all the time aye?
Ever wondered what sort of an effect ya really had on someone?
Ever thought about all the stuff ya shared and said?
Did it ever really mean anything?
COURSE it did!
We all at some point dwell on the bad things that happen to us.
Oh bugga!
It is always easier to be angry and lash out than it is to hold ya tongue, stop, think and then release ya feelings in a constructive way. This ole snake has on many occasions been caught out by verbally dribbling on without thinking. (I appear ta be a slow learner)
The actions we take can and do determine what kind of people we will become. Even as we get older I believe that most of us learn from our actions and can adapt to the way things pan out.
Notice I said most. There are some who will change ta get what they want then revert back ta the way thing were. Some never learn from that.
Still!
“There are no such things as problems only opportunities.”
They say things happen for a reason. They say time heals wounds. They say things always look darker before the sun rises.
Whoever “They” are should be taken out the back and shot. Bringing out all those sayings that are probably as old as father time himself.
I sometimes wish I could follow my own advice when I get in a rut. I seem ta be pretty good at offering advice (Most of which is damn good advice at that!) but when I fall into a similar position in life that so called good advice seems ta nick off and leave ya ta sit and ponder on ya tod.
Moving over here has been a real eye opener.
The thing that has been my greatest comfort is loving my own company. Being comfortable with whom I am and things I have done.
Ya do have ta be careful ya don’t fall into the trap of shutting out the rest of the world. You have to remain part of it, however, I do enjoy the little talks I have with myself, the stories I write and the poems that come from the heart.
As time passes me by I find I tend to keep pretty much to myself these days. I venture out and can still put smiles on dials, I can enjoy things I see and do yet I still keep people at a distance.
I have to deal with life’s ups and downs in my own way and my own time. That in itself can be very difficult for those around me ta deal with. In most cases they only wanna help ya and be there but each of us deals with things in different ways and my way is certainly not in the text book. That makes it hard for others ta comprehend and even accept. This usually leads ta more problems and misunderstandings.
Such is life, and then they hang ya!
Having the gift of being able ta make people feel good about themselves and getting them to believe that there is something out there for each and every one of us. Being able ta baffle people with comments I leave simply because they haven’t looked at their post the way I did. Makes me feel pretty frigging good about who I am and where I am going. There are of course those out there who just cannot for the life of themselves see what’s so funny, or just can’t come to terms with the way I think.
Well that’s ok!
Just don’t piss down my back and then tell me it’s raining.
My ability to adapt to meeting different people from different walks of life. To be able to tolerate nutters and dickheads who crap on about this and that yet won’t let you viewpoint be heard is an asset I sometimes take for granted. Maybe I sell myself short. Or maybe I just don’t take the time to look at all the good things I have done. All the people I have made happy.
Sometimes we all need ta stop, think and then give ourselves a wee pat on the back and tell ourselves what a good people we really all are. There really is too much emphasis placed on negative things. Everyone is entitled ta bitch and moan about things, just don’t keep on and on and on. We all will be hurt and feel pain. It is how ya deal with it and what ya learn from it that matters.
I am fortunate that my outlook when something bad happens I move on quickly. Doesn’t mean I don’t care or don’t think about it. Just means I am giving myself time ta think in a rational manner without dwelling on it too much.
Bloody Hell!
Did I really come up with that?
Strike me pink!
Wonder how ya would give a snake a pat on the back?

Rainy day
Moving can be a stressful experience and moving to another country can be even more trying. It is a time when doubts make one question decisions made and one questions the validity of what one set to do.
The other day Auckland had a max temp of 32.4 and everyone sweltered. Well everyone except me. Just thought it was a nice day ta be perfectly honest.
Today is Valentine’s Day and it is raining outside. Right now it somehow seems appropriate.
Even during the warm dry days over here the flora remains green. I guess that i am that use ta seeing brown that green can be quite a pleasant change.
The sounds made by the motorway behind our house bring a sense of comfort. When I sit out the back and listen to the traffic it can be quite a soothing sound almost tranquil in a strange kind of way.
I have been spending a few hours each day walking through the Botanical Gardens which are a short walk from here. I sit and watch the world go by. I ponder my life ahead and sup on a couple of beers at the restaurant. I watch the people come and go. The tourists and the locals make a colourful picture against the Gardens backdrop.
Sometime this week I will be off to Christchurch. Shaz, Mum and Bev my companions on this journey and they are wanting ta do the tourist thing. I was never a tourist and never want to be. As I have mentioned in previous posts I would rather sit with the locals and eat, drink and listen to them talk.
While we are there I am looking forward to catching up with Marja . Should be an interesting encounter. The woman is very quiet and me, well I polite and softly spoken and of course a lovable chap. It will be good to catch up and see her and meet her family.
The job front is looking good and I will be getting stuck into job hunting after Christchurch.
Our stuff is still stuck in Melbourne so we have no idea when that will arrive.
I miss the PC speakers that give my PC much needed grunt when I play music. I miss those that I consider ta be my closest friends. I miss Munno Para Shopping Centre and the guys I use ta work with. I miss my girls at Shiels and Grahams jewellery store. I miss those retailers that I have or rather had come to know so well. I miss my family. (Is there anyone I have left out?)
Adapting to a different country isn’t always easy but I am getting there.
That has to be a good thing.

The heat is on!
Strange as it may seem, it is very difficult to describe New Zealand.
There are not enough positive adjectives to explain what this place is like. From the places to the people. Lifestyles vary and there is of course the beautiful weather.
Speaking of weather, my home town of Adelaide South Australia has sufferred its worst heatwave in ages. It is still going and there is no relief insight till maybe Sunday. I got out just in time. The sad thing is that 40 odd people have died from the heat. This ta me is totally unnecessary. Then there have been power cuts as air conditioners have been pumping none stop for over 2 weeks.
Not enough power ta go round.
WTF?
These pricks who run these so called electrical companies charge way too much for a crappy service. They knew the heat was coming and were ill prepared for it. Even this ole fella knows that every year we get a week or two of heat that keeps aircons on 24/7.
To give ya an idea of the heat put ya oven on full, leave it for a couple of hours then open the door and climb in. I kid you not! It gets really frigging hot.
The old joke of frying an egg on the pavement isn’t always a joke. The biggest joke is that the temperature the bureau gives out comes from the shade where ya can have anything from a 5-15 dgree drop from direct sun.
The thing that annoys me most is that there are the senior people out there that no one checks up on. DON’T tell me no one knows. They got family and friends neighbours. Someone somewhere knows. Even if ya do knock on their door and they tell ya ta “FUCK off” at least ya made the effort.
In this day and age and in a country like Australia you have gotta be kidding me that this thing can be classed as normal. “These things happen.”The wanker said. OH really, when the truth came out they cut the power ta the WRONG fucking house!!!!!!!
Don’t it make ya wanna go and kick the living shit outta the CEO while he is sitting in his 20c office!
“Settle down Stevie boy.”
It just breaks my heart that so many have passed away and for what? There will be no compensation no nothing. They will be putting the price of Gas and Electric up later this month so that they can improve services. That’s what they said last year and the year before and blah blah blah!
The one thing I will miss about OZ is the football and my beloved Crows!
Me family I miss but that is standard aye?
Oh well I’ll sign off now from the “Widow Room" as my wife calls it.
Take care ya’ll and stay cool, or warm depending on where ya are!
Whitesnakes do it better ........ When ya a cool aussie in NZ!
